INDIA
Learning and connecting: foundational parts of future endeavors

I went to India to be exposed to a culture and life I hadn’t seen before. Little did I know how much this would influence the rest of my life. India, the second most populous country on earth with almost 1.3 billion people, is a rapidly developing nation. Although situations are improving in many parts of the country, there are still thousands of villages that have very little access to basic healthcare services or fresh drinking water. Sewage typically runs in the streets and sanitation thereof is often non-existent or primitive at best. These extremely unhealthy living conditions lead, in many cases, to premature death - caused by illnesses that could otherwise have been prevented.

International Health Effort will seek to partner with local leaders to address these issues. Villages have been identified where we will seek

to drill fresh water wells and local businesses will be hired to do the work, helping to improve economies. Basic sanitation principles will be taught to prevent disease and medical needs will be addressed by volunteer healthcare practitioners. Additionally, local businesses and farms will be invested in with micro-loans which will have a positive residual impact on the community economically. We will seek to invest in local leaders in every village in order to make a lasting impact that will not fade away when our teams are gone. By providing fresh water, medical services, economic stimulus, sanitary living conditions, and extensive training to local leaders, we seek to not only cure illnesses, but to prevent them, and to address extreme poverty in the process.
